Things you need to know as a tenant living in a rented apartment

 




If you are a tenant and you know your rent expired 31st of December, 2025. and up till now, you have not renewed your rent.


Pls know this


1. You are not a tenant anymore as we speak


2. You are now a tenant at WILL


3. You are not entitled to six months Notice to Quit anymore 


4. Your Landlord can serve you seven days owners intention to recover property and file for your eviction in court the next day after the 7 days


5. At this point, even if you are ready to pay, your Landlord can reject your payment cos your contract has expired officially 


6. Your Landlord doesn't have the right to lock your door, disconnect you from electricity or disconnect you from using water when you are not owing utility bill


7. Your Landlord can not pack your load out


8. The Landlord must go to court if he wish to evict you and the court will grant you some grace period, but you will pay for those period 


9. After the grace period the court gave to you, if you don't move out. 


Court officials will come and pack your load out.
