_LGA Coordinator Disowns Unauthorised Town Hall Meeting, Reports Matter to State Structure_

The Obidient Movement in Ogun State has been thrown into mild controversy following the circulation of a public notice announcing a town hall meeting allegedly organised by a group identifying itself as "All Inclusive Obidient" in partnership with ADC Ofada Ward — a development that has drawn a sharp and categorical disclaimer from the recognised leadership of the movement at the local government level.

In a strongly worded disclaimer dated *25th March, 2026, and issued on the official letterhead of Obidient Ogun State, Hon. Jamiu Oladayo, the Coordinator of the Obidient Movement in **Obafemi Owode Local Government**, declared that neither he nor the recognised structures of the movement were informed of, consulted about, or carried along in the planning and decision-making process that led to the proposed event.

"I wish to categorically state that, in my capacity as the Coordinator of the Obidient Movement in Obafemi Owode Local Government, I was neither officially informed nor carried along in the planning or decision-making process leading to this event," Hon. Oladayo stated in the disclaimer.

He further noted that the Obidient Movement at the local government level — and across other recognised structures — was equally not briefed or consulted regarding the initiative, raising serious concerns about the intent behind the unsanctioned gathering.

Infocity News gathered that Hon. Oladayo has since escalated the matter to the **Ogun State Obidient Movement leadership**, formally reporting the attempt to use an unauthorised parallel event to infiltrate and potentially fragment the movement's structure in the area. The development is being viewed by loyalists within the movement as a calculated attempt by external or divisive elements to create a backdoor entry into the Obidient family and sow seeds of discord ahead of the 2027 political season.

While acknowledging the enthusiasm of individuals and groups who identify with the Obidient Movement's ideals, the LGA Coordinator was firm in his position that such enthusiasm must be channelled through proper and established structures. He stressed that coordination, transparency, and alignment with recognised organs are non-negotiable in maintaining the order, credibility, and unity that have come to define the movement.

"Proper coordination, transparency, and alignment with established structures are essential to maintaining order, credibility, and unity within the movement," Hon. Oladayo emphasised.

Members of the public and all Obidients in Ogun State have been advised to take note of the clarification and be wary of events or gatherings not sanctioned by the recognised leadership of the movement.

As of the time of this report, the state-level Obidient Movement is yet to issue a formal response to the LGA Coordinator's report, but sources within the movement indicate that the matter is being treated with the seriousness it deserves.

Kukah Centre Denounces Misleading Reports, Reaffirms Stand on Ongoing Persecution of Christians The Kukah Centre (TKC) has issued a strongly worded statement distancing itself from media reports that falsely suggest its founder, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, denied the existence of Christian persecution or genocide in Nigeria. In a press release signed by the Executive Director, Fr. Atta Barkindo, Ph.D, the Centre expressed concern over what it described as “selective attributions” and “mischaracterisation” of Bishop Kukah’s recent remarks at two major events: the 2025 World Report on Religious Freedom launched at the Vatican on 21 October, and the 46th Supreme Convention of the Knights of St. Mulumba held in Kaduna on 28 November. According to the Centre, nowhere in Bishop Kukah’s comments did he diminish the seriousness of faith-based persecution in Nigeria. Instead, it reaffirmed that the Bishop has consistently highlighted the alarming rise in targeted attacks on Christian com...
