Dr. Bolaji Marie Odusina, popularly known as DEEDOC, has urged Nigerians to play a more active role in shaping the nation's future by registering for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participating in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an exclusive interview, the advocate for wealth creation, healthcare, and education stressed that democracy flourishes only when citizens actively exercise their constitutional right to vote. She encouraged all eligible Nigerians to obtain their PVCs and make informed choices at the polls.

Dr. Odusina expressed concern over the country's current socio-economic realities, noting that many Nigerians continue to grapple with economic hardship, unemployment, insecurity, and limited opportunities. According to her, these challenges have left millions feeling constrained and unable to fully realize their potential or influence decisions that affect their lives.

She emphasized that sustainable national development can only be achieved when citizens actively participate in the democratic process rather than remaining on the sidelines.

Speaking on youth development, DEEDOC lamented that the national aspiration that "The Young Shall Grow" has not received the attention it deserves over the years. She observed that young Nigerians possess immense talent, creativity, and resilience but often lack the opportunities and enabling environment needed to thrive.

She therefore called on young people to become more engaged in civic participation, describing them as critical stakeholders in building a more prosperous and accountable Nigeria.

Reaffirming the importance of the electoral process, Dr. Odusina described voting as one of the strongest expressions of democratic freedom. She urged all eligible Nigerians to register for their PVCs, protect their votes, and participate peacefully in the 2027 general elections.

According to her, meaningful national transformation begins with citizens who are willing to take responsibility for choosing credible leaders through the ballot.

In a press release signed by the Executive Director, Fr. Atta Barkindo, Ph.D, the Centre expressed concern over what it described as “selective attributions” and “mischaracterisation” of Bishop Kukah’s recent remarks at two major events: the 2025 World Report on Religious Freedom launched at the Vatican on 21 October, and the 46th Supreme Convention of the Knights of St. Mulumba held in Kaduna on 28 November. According to the Centre, nowhere in Bishop Kukah’s comments did he diminish the seriousness of faith-based persecution in Nigeria. Instead, it reaffirmed that the Bishop has consistently highlighted the alarming rise in targeted attacks on Christian com...
