Trump says heavy bombing of Iran will continue ‘as long as necessary’


We have more from the US president’s Truth Social post on the alleged killing of Iran’s Khamenei.

He called on the IRGC and Iranian police to join “Iranian patriots” in changing the government there and said “that process should soon be starting” now that Khamenei has been killed and the country has been “very much destroyed and even, obliterated” in just one day.

“The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue, uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!” he added.

As we’ve been reporting, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim and Mehr news agencies say that Khamenei is “steadfast and firm in commanding the field”.
